Virada Cultural Some Cool Free Music In Sao Paulo 5th & 6th May

This is what it looks like

I think this is the first time I have actually written about something musically special going on in Sao Paulo :-). So if “Virada Cultural” was happening in London / LA / Berlin people would be going nuts, free concerts yes free all over the city I can’t even begin to list the amount of musicians that are playing.

Yep!! Below is a link to the website with a full list.

Ebo taylor, Tony Allen, Seun Kuti & Egypt 80, Roys Ayers, Os Mutantes, Toots and the Maytals,  Charles Bradly, Gilberto Gil  even the Sao Paulo Orchestra and all for free!! Holy shit balls it’s an Afro beat bonanza!! Line up is insane full of music pioneers as well as lots of great Brazilian talent.

Has so much soul its seeps from every pore!!

I am not sure if most Brazilians will have heard of a lot of these guys (serious, I know) but I often hear Brazilians tell me they love music well it’s time for them to step up to the plate, it’s free and there is living legend’s playing so no excuses; even if you have not heard of these guys trust me they are the real deal!

From what I understand it’s a little bit mental people everywhere and you have to watch your possessions, but fuck it too good to miss. So if you in Sao Paulo this weekend this is a must, just put your money in your underwear don’t take any valuables and go enjoy the amazing music that never comes to Brazil.
